The Greatness of Tamil
As per the literary work of Tolakkapiyam, Tamil language was born even before 1st Century B.C.
Tamil language is a part of Dravidian literature much as several other languages in India are a pert of the Aryan.
It is said that Tamil was the language of Lord Shiva. Saint Agastya, who is the first rishi and who write several books on medicine, ayurveda and Siddha is said to have been a Tamil.
Since times unknown, Tamil has played a vital role in being the language of Gods as much as Sanskrit has.
The famous book by Tiruvalluvar, the Tirukkural is en epitome of literaty beauty, wisdom for many more ages to come.
Suseendram, the birthplace of Lord Anjaneya or Hanuman is on the border of TamilNadu and Kerala, which is yet again a proof of Tamil being the language of Gods.
It is also said that when Lord Ram travelled towards Srilanka, the then Lanka to conquer Ravana, he learnt and spoke Tamil and communicated with the Monkey armies of Lord Hanuman.
Tamil is also spoken in several other countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri lanka, Singapore besides several others.
The great poetry of Tamil poets such as Tiruvalluvar, Kambar, Andal, the Nayanmars, Alwars is renowned across the world and translated into several other languages.
The sylvan lines by Andal, “Yetrekkum Yezhel Piravikkum un thannodu, Utromey aavom, unakke naam aatchaivom…” is a song of surrender and eternal love towards God, which is absolutely priceless!
The Tamil culture, known for its humility and humaneness is unmatched to any other. Saints such as Adi Shankara and Ramanujar who have preached the most compassionate teachings to their followers is very valuable and something to be really proud of.
Tamil Nadu is also the homeland of Sadguru and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Gurus of Isha Yoga and Art of Living respectively. The motherland of Ramana Maharishi and J Krishnamoorthy, Tamil is a language of compassion, kindness, beauty of the heart and love that transcends all boundaries of religion, caste and creed.
