Chennai Man Sundar Pichai- Next Google CEO

Here’s yet another reason to feel proud to be Indian! …and none other than our Tamil man, Sundar Pichai takes over IT giant, Google Inc. later this year as CEO.

As per the Wallstreet Magazine, “Sundar has a tremendous ability to see what’s ahead and mobilize teams around the super important stuff,” Mr. Page wrote in an October 2014 memo announcing Mr. Pichai’s promotion to head of most Google product areas.

Just 43 years old, this man, a semiconductor Engineer, a passout of IIT Kharagpur in Metallurgical Engineering, exceled and impressed everybody at Google to take on this role. He then pursued his graduate Engineering degree at Stanford University and MBA in Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Of course, it has not been easy. It has been an uphill climb for this man, but solely on the basis of true merit and hardwork. Born in Madras in the year 1972, his exceptional contribution to the development of Google Chrome OS, Google Drive and later in 2013, adding Google to Android has what has brought him where he is now.

Pichai on 10th August, 2015 proudly joins the league of CEOs. Microsoft Corp. CEO Satya Nadella, Nokia Corp. CEO Rajeev Suri,SoftBank Corp. CEO, and former Google executive, Nikesh Arora, SanDisk Corp. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra and Adobe Systems Inc. CEO Shantanu Narayen, among others.

He has been approached by most of the IT leaders including Microsoft, Android, Twitter and YouTube, which is now a part of Google Inc.

On the personal front, Pichai is married and has a son and a daughter. He met his wife in India and later on both joined together to pursue their education at Stanford University.
